Whether you are a practising book-keeper or an accounting professional, the IAB qualification is the international gateway to your financial career through essential skills for business
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements, however, it is recommended that before commencing a course you will already have basic skills in numeracy and literacy and some understanding of basic book-keeping practical and terminology. You will need to have a good level of written and spoken English. You are required to attend an interview plus an initial assessment in literacy, numeracy and a IT assessment prior to enrolment on this course
What will I learn?
Recording and processing financial transactions
Principles of VAT
Preparing recording financial documentation
Maintaining petty cash, journals, control accounts
Processing ledger transactions and extracting a trial balance
How will the course be delivered?
Tutor led lectures, demonstration and practical tasks, hands on practice plus personal attention, observation, demonstration. You will be given a range of tasks on the topics. You are expected to practice and complete homework on this course for a minimum of three hours per week.
How will my learning be assessed?
You will be assessed by a combination of knowledge tests, assignments or a project throughout the course. There will also be a final IAB examination at the end of the course
What are the extra costs?
You might need to purchase an IAB text book to help you with your course. The tutor will advise you once you are on the course
What course can I progress to next?
Learners can progress to higher level courses such as IAB Level 3 or AAT courses delivered by other institutions.
Any Health & Safety issues?
No, but safe use of computers is essential. This will be covered as part of course induction
