How will this course benefit me?
Whether you are employed or looking for a job in office support this qualification will provide essential knowledge and understanding in all the general areas of administration. Added to other IT qualifications, this course will prepare you to gain employment in an office environment.
What are the entry requirements?
You must have a minimum of level 1 ITQ qualification or Business Administration qualification at level 1 and strong literacy skills. You are required to attend an interview plus an initial assessment in literacy, numeracy and IT assessment prior to enrolment on this course
What will I learn?
You will learn a range of office skills to prepare you for the work environment. The course covers five units: effective communication in the workplace, understanding business organisations, the role of the administrator, using ICT in the workplace and business documentation. In addition there will be a lesson on interview techniques towards the end of the course.
How will the course be delivered?
You will work on a set of tasks throughout the course. Your tutor will provide regular feedback on your progress and achievement. You are expected to practice and complete homework on this course and must do independent study of up to two hours per week.
How will my learning be assessed?

What are the extra costs?
You will need to purchase a USB memory stick to store your work. You will also have to pay for any exam resit fees
What course can I progress to next?
The course will give you the skills and confidence to progress to office administration jobs. You can also progress to our ITQ Level 2 course. Your tutor will provide you with advice on progression opportunities at the end of the course.
Any Health & Safety issues?
No, but safe use of computers is essential. This will be covered as part of course induction
