How will this course benefit me?

If you are interested in gaining employment in an office environment, this qualification will provide you with the essential knowledge and understanding of working in business administration.

What are the entry requirements?

You must have a minimum of Entry level ITQ or equivalent experience and good spoken and written English at level 1. You must attend an interview plus take an initial assessment in literacy, numeracy and IT prior to enrolment on this course.

What will I learn?
You will learn a range of office skills to prepare you for the work environment, including effective communication in the workplace and working in business administration, as well as using ICT to create and produce business documentation.

How will the course be delivered?

Your tutor will explain and demonstrate a variety of tasks and you will have access to your own PC and plenty of opportunity for hands-on practice. Your tutor will support you with specific tasks and conduct observation of your progress.

How will my learning be assessed?

You will work on a set of tasks throughout the course. Your tutor will provide regular feedback on your progress and achievement. You are expected to practice and complete homework on this course and must do independent study of up to two hours per week. You will complete a Gateway Qualifications assessment in two modules.

What are the extra costs?

You will need to purchase a USB memory stick to store your work. You will also have to pay for any exam resit fees.

What course can I progress to next?

You can progress to Level 2 Business Administration or ITQ Level 1 or 2 depending on ability. Your tutor will provide you with advice on progression opportunities at the end of the course.


Any Health & Safety issues?

No, but safe use of computers is essential. This will be covered as part of course induction.
